Occasionally, just occasionally, a little sugar passes my lips. I was given The Seasoned Vegetarian as a present last year and the author is spot-on about his recipe for carrot jam: "Hold on there before you turn the page; this is one of my favourite recipes in the book". That said, I am going to give it a try with some honey to replace the sugar ...

Hi Momo, yes, it was the first time I had ever heard of carrot jam too. We had a big glut of carrots this year so it was the perfect discovery. It can be used like any other jam - on bread or toast - it's truly yummy. We had a lovely Christmas, snuggled in because of the snow, so somewhat different to your journey to the beach! Looking forward to reading about your creative adventures in 2011 ....
