First Things First (at Christmas): Connect
With Christmas in mind, and perfect for adults and children alike, I picked up this game last week on an expedition in Kent. Trying to find out a little more about the design group Ken Garland and Associates online I was delighted to find this comprehensive account and even more delighted to read their 1963 manifesto (above).

Christmas Reading
The lovely ladies at Gravel and Gold in SF, one of my favourite shop blogs, have been regularly uploading pages from an amazing early 1970s US publication Country♀Women described as a ‘feminist country survival manual and a creative journal’. Inspired, I thought as a little Christmas offering I’d point everyone in the direction of an English version of the ‘good life’ via the website of Craig Sams where past issues of Seed: the Journal of Organic Living are up for perusal. Happy Christmas reading!

Last hurrah of the season
The carboot and jumbling season is slowly winding down. The haul above came in at under a tenner (including the entrance fee) so is effectively the last hurrah of the season. I loved the system of this particular jumble sale where everything you bought at various stalls was noted on a card by the attendant ladies (10p, 50p, etc.) and then you paid in full on the way out, rather than constantly fumbling for change.

I want ... #4
I am slightly addicted to Pinterest. There's no account in my name though. I simply don’t possess the desire to pin-up 2000+ various kitchen and living rooms. My tastes are more singular and specific. This mezzanine space would suit me for life. Light, books, sofa, rug, plants, music (with a kitchen downstairs). From a wonderful series by David Carr-Smith on Amsterdam squats.

Veggie Island
Woke up to this winter’s second blast of snow today. Warming myself up by perusing beautiful photographs of corner-site summer magic hang-out Veggie Island. My local hang-out? I wish!
